About Me

I've learned many things over the course of my studies, all of which have aided in shaping me not only as a teacher, but as the person I am proud to be today. I've had many influential professors and courses that have helped to inspire me to be the best teacher that I can be. Throughout my public education I was an avid reader, proud editor in chief of my high school yearbook, and a dreamer with high hopes to explore as much of the world as possible. Thankfully I was able to satisfy my natural curiosity for the world through my studies at UNLV by participating in the International Student Teaching program. I completed my internship at Bradway Primary School in Sheffield, England in the fall of 2013. I benefited from the unique perspective that I gained while teaching in another country in countless ways. This experience tested my ability to be flexible and adapt to new and unfamiliar environments - two qualities I believe an effective teacher must posess. Having the opportunity to collaborate with teachers, work with students, and communicate with parents from outside the boundaries of my home country has made me more culturally aware. Not only have I learned things about a different culture, but I have broadened my understanding of what it means to be a student, teacher, and citizen of The United States of America.

Above are pictures of different places I have been lucky enough to visit and things I have seen around the world, all of which have made a lasting impact on me. My travels are largely related to the theme of this e-portfolio.
